Tourism

in the heart of the Balkans

The mountain village of Vardiste, near Breza, is situated in a rugged landscape typical of BiH and offers stunning views of the mountains surrounding Sarajevo, Kraljeva Sutjeska, Vares, and Visoko. Organized in one cooperative, six local women promote an alternative approach to the tourist industry, with respect for tradition and harmony with nature.
Their homes are open for the visitors to stay, experience the delights of the Bosnian cuisine, and participate in the everyday activities and social life of the rural community.
While eating pita, bosanski lonac and baklava, tourists also participate in their preparation and are taught how to weave traditional carpets.

Surroundings ...
The village offers opportunities for walks through the fascinating scenery. Several mine-free mountain trails leave from the village centre, wildlife sights guaranteed. The fruits you pick will be used in the workshop to make fruit juices and jams. And those into botanic are taught how to sort and use medicinal herbs make teas and syrups out of them.

Zadruga Vardiste invite you to experience the warmth of their hospitality and look forward to make your holiday truly unique.
